Low-Upkeep Dogs for Busy People

Dachshund

The dachshund is a breed of dog known for its warmth and companionship.

Long-haired doxies need more attention to their appearance than their short- or wire-haired counterparts.

Greyhound

This racing canine is not as high-energy as the general public might think. Most greyhounds are just like their owners and want to lounge around all day.

The majority of greyhounds have excellent health. Greyhounds, as a breed, are known for being docile and trainable.

French Bulldog

The happy Frenchie is the best couch potato pal. Among canine species, French bulldogs are some of the most upbeat.

This breed does best with moderate daily exercise; however, outside activities should be curtailed during extremely hot and humid weather.

Chihuahua

The majority of Chihuahuas have good health. Minimal grooming is required, though long-haired Chihuahuas will require additional brushing to prevent mats.

The temperament of this breed is something to keep in mind. Don't be a baby for these pets and take them around with you.

Cavalier King Charles Spaniel

The Cavalier is an excellent choice if you want a dog that always appears to be a young adult.

This medium-sized dog prefers to cuddle with either a person or another canine companion.

West Highland White Terrier

A West Highland White Terrier is an ideal companion if you're looking for a little to medium dog.

Most people are fairly functioning, trainable, and they are in good health.
