Barcelona manager Xavi Hernandez blasted Spain’s top football division for not employing goal-line technology after the Catalans lost 3-2 to Real Madrid and conceded further ground in the title race.
With the latest loss, Barcelona are 11 points adrift of their historic rivals and staring at a trophy-less season.
Xavi was furious after Lamine Yamal had a shot which Barcelona said crossed the line was not given as a goal after officials could not prove that it had using VAR.
The contentious moment came with the game tied at 1-1.
Youngster Yamal flicked a corner towards goal and Real Madrid goalkeeper Andriy Lunin pushed the ball to safety, potentially after it had crossed the line.
